  2. Hi Ginger! Cool medicinal minute! We have a lot of what I call “beggars lice” on the land at the new schoolhouse location (we’re leasing from Friends Meeting of Austin). Is this in the same family as Queen Anne’s Lace? What about poison Hemlock? I know they are all different, but a parent asked me about it and I was curious to find out more from you as a knowledgeable plant person! Thanks for the great resources.

    1. Hi Caitlin! yes, all three plants you mentioned are in the same family, the Carrot Family or APIACEAE. Beggar’s Tick is super common around Austin, and is not poisonous, but of course with poisonous plants that look similar to it, I exercise caution with the kids.
