About the Teachers:
Ginger Webb is a community herbalist, mother, certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, permaculturist, and wild plant lover. She has owned and operated Texas Medicinals, her herbal medicine making business, since 1999, supplying Central Texas with high quality tinctures, teas, salves, and other herbal remedies. She is the Founder, Director and Primary Instructor of Sacred Journey School of Herbalism, which offers many classes including a 9-month, 200-hour herbalist training program, along with Community Classes, and Kitchen Witchery Classes. Upon request from other mamas in her community, she created herbalist training programs and nature camps for adolescent girls dubbed Little Green Witches. Her intention is not just to train people to become herbalists, but most importantly to help awaken and nurture their innate love for the plants and the earth. Ginger counts many teachers along her herbal path, most notably Michael Moore (1999 SWSBM graduate) and Sage Maurer (Gaia School of Healing & Earth Education). She is one of the pillars of the Central Texas herbalist community and may be best known for providing herbal care for midwives and mothers, free community herb walks, and identifying native plants on Facebook at a moment’s notice.
Kristen is inspired about connection with youth, adults & whole families through nature immersion, social-emotional learning and community building. In her work she strives to create opportunities for self-discovery, personal growth, inspiration, self-empowerment, and a greater awareness of sustainable living and land stewardship for herself and others. Kristen holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Texas. She completed Earth Native Wilderness School’s Survival Skills Intensive in 2013 and continues to teach youth through their weekly nature programs. She studied with Ginger Webb through her Sacred Journey School of herbalism in 2015 and also completed a certificate in Permaculture Design.
She devoted many years to the Whole Life Learning Center, of which she is a co-founder and served as Assistant Director working to create an inspiring, empowering and engaging learning environment as an alternative to traditional schooling. Previous work has also included youth camp directorship and program coordination at El Ranchito, the Amala Foundation’s Camp Indigo & Global Youth Peace Summit’s and Youth Advocacy. Other things Kristen loves are dancing, being playful & sneaky, the healing arts, travel & community sharing through food, music, ceremony & storytelling. She lives near Lockhart in a remodeled 1973 airstream with her partner Braden and their amazing dog Star.
