A note from Ginger:

Interesting facts about Coral Vine that I've learned: (1) in parts of northern Thailand, coral vine flowers are part of the people's everyday diet and the most commonly consumed edible flower; (2) in Jamaica, leaves and flowers are brewed into a tea for coughs; (3) the plant is being studied for its anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects. In my Austin TX neighborhood, it grows vigorously along fences. Definitely a plant that I will experiment more with.
