Garrya or Silk Tassel
Garrya Lindheimeri
Garryaceae (Silk Tassel Family)
Medicinal Minute with Ginger Webb
A note from Ginger:
Over the long hellishly hot summer of 2023, I witnessed many stands of Silk Tassel die back. The ones sheltered by the junipers survived, but many along the edges of the woods turned black. I am not sure if they will come back. Due to this setback for the local Garrya species, I no longer will be harvesting from our stands. I will pay close attention over the coming years. I am rooting for the Silk Tassel.
