A note from Ginger:

Known locally as Wax Mallow or Turk's Cap, this evergreen mallow forms patches and provides tasty little red flowers and fruits for the forager. As an herbalist, I like to harvest leaves and dry them for overnight infusions, drawing from them lots of minerals and phytochemicals. All plant parts are to varying degrees demulcent.
