Medicinal Minute: Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana)

A note from Ginger:

Witch hazel leaves and twigs can be dried and used (1) in a sitzbath for painful hemorrhoids, and (2) in a postpartum sitzbath. For the hemorrhoids, the distilled product is often more convenient: saturate a cotton ball/pad with the witch hazel distillate and apply to your booty. It is astringent and will help tighten up boggy tissue.
