ADVANCED COURSE

ADVANCED WILD TEXAS HERBALISM

Continue with us on your herbal journey and deepen your experience with the plants growing in Central Texas.

Ginger Webb was inspired to offer Advanced Wild Texas Herbalism by her graduating students who want to continue studying the wild native and naturalized medicinal plants growing around us here in Central Texas. This course is available to anyone who has completed Foundations of Herbalism with SJS and includes six outdoor Saturdays, our Spring Campout, online Herbal Ally explorations, and a re-immersion in the online Intro to Herbalism class.

This course consists of four parts:

  • Wild Outdoor Explorations: Six Saturday mornings spent with Ginger Webb and the apprentice team exploring old and new favorite locations. We will get to identify, talk about, and have fun with plants in way that we don’t also get a chance to do in the beginner Wild Texas class, with harvesting opportunities not always possible with larger groups. These explorations meet on Saturday mornings, approximately 10 AM - 1PM, all dates listed below. This is a rare opportunity to get to explore the wild landscapes with Ginger with a smaller cohort.
  • Spring Campout: Invitation to join our Foundations students at our Spring campout & classes at Palmetto SP (March 19-21, 2027).
  • Herbal Allies Series: Ginger Webb will focus on a different Texas medicinal plant each evening in a live Zoom class, going more deeply than before with practical applications, historical references as well as those from other practicing herbalists all over the country, and a downloadable monograph for each plant. Meeting every two weeks September - April on Thursday evenings.
  • Intro to Herbalism: RE-IMMERSION! As a returning student, re-enrollment in the weekly Zoom class allows you the time and space to refresh and experience the lessons more deeply (75 hours with SJS Intro to Herbalism students of 2026-2027. Discounted Herbal Goodie Box available)

TAUGHT BY: Ginger Webb

Ginger Webb has been deeply immersed in the study of herbs in central Texas for 30+ years and has supported hundreds of people to reconnect with the plant world as medicine. Since 2012, Sacred Journey School of Herbalism has offered in-depth herbalist programs to interested folks and new herbalists.

The school reflects Ginger’s love of the plant world; her experience studying with herbalist Michael Moore; her years of medicine-making experience; her assertion that herbalism is the people’s medicine; and her belief we all have access to the healing wisdom of the plant world simply because we are alive and share consciousness with all life.
