HERBALIST CLINICAL THEATER

Advanced learning for students ready to grow in their application of knowledge to real-life health challenges.

A unique opportunity to learn by observing an herbal practitioner with a client, Herbalist Clinical Theater is designed as the next step after completing Foundations of Herbalism. During this 6 month program, students ready to grow in their knowledge and application of herbalism will have the opportunity to learn how to conduct an herbal consultation using the dual method of Michael Moore's Constitutional Physiology intake system and Ginger Webb's drop dose technique.

CLASS INCLUDES:

a printed, spiral bound copy of several Michael Moore manuals that we utilize in class (and are great resources to refer to throughout your herbal career)
opportunity to volunteer for a live consultation slot (consultation with Ginger and custom herbal formula)
access to class recordings (for review or if you miss a class)
opportunity for clinical mentorship with Ginger after finishing the course.

Herbalist Clinical Theatre topics include:

CONSTITUTIONAL PHYSIOLOGY: Learn Michael Moore’s system of Constitutional Physiology. Experience and learn from Ginger Webb through in-person consultations with real humans.
CUSTOM FORMULATIONS: Learn herbal clinician Ginger Webb’s drop-dose technique for creating custom formulations.
HERBAL CONSULTATIONS: Conduct your own herbal consultations and get feedback from Ginger and the class.
EXPERIENCE: Experience the guided process of Food Elimination and Rechallenge (which Ginger learned from clinical medical herbalist Paul Bergner) with your fellow students over the span of 40+ days.
ADVANCED TOPICS: Go in depth with Ginger on other topics relevant to individual and public health, such as insulin resistance (“prediabetes”) and food intolerances.

Michael Moore's Constitutional Physiology intake System

Michael Moore created a system of Constitutional Physiology that attempts to address sub-clinical deficiencies and excesses in human organ systems. He also created an intake form that allows a clinician to quickly suss out some of the patterns of deficiency/excess in a client, and an herbal guide (aka the “cheat sheet”) that suggests herbs that will work in formulation for that person.

Ginger will spend several sessions teaching this system, and then several sessions practicing it in clinical theater.

Ginger Webb's Drop Dose Technique

Ginger will demonstrate (and students participants will get to witness) Ginger’s “one drop” test with the client, administering one drop of a particular tincture, to see how the client responds. This is a powerful way to gain confidence in the herbs we choose for the final formula, as well as a powerful way for the client to trust the process: they feel the energy of the herb in their own body/energy, and they get to decide if that herb is one they want to work with. Finally, we will go through a formulation process for each client.

***We will be choosing clients from among the student participants in the class (as well as our communities if needed) to participate in the clinical theater, receiving a free consultation and custom herbal formulation(s).

All classes taught by Austin TX community herbalist Ginger Webb. Ginger has been deeply immersed in the study of herbs in central Texas for 30+ years and has supported hundreds to reconnect with the plant world as medicine. Since 2012, Sacred Journey School of Herbalism has offered in-depth herbalist programs to interested folx and new herbalists.

The school reflects Ginger’s deep love for the plants and for humanity; her study with the late great herbalist Michael Moore; her nerdy passion for botany, wild plants, and plant families; her years of experience making herbal medicines; her reverence for the wisdom of the ancients; and her belief that we all have access to the healing wisdom of the plant world simply by virtue of the fact that we are alive and share consciousness with all life.

CLASS REFUND POLICY

Deposits and class payments are non-refundable, but may be used toward future classes within a one year period if you contact us to withdraw at least 2 weeks BEFORE the class begins. If you withdraw after this time period, all payments made are not refundable or transferrable AND your full balance is still due if your payment plan is not complete. Please understand that your tuition pays for a seat during this session and that is why we have to stick to this policy.

If you have to miss classes, we will work with you to help you make up the material. We know that circumstances change and life challenges come up, but we cannot make exceptions. You are welcome to give your seat in class to a friend if you cannot attend. Please read our full Class Refund Policy.
