TXA note from Ginger:
We all recognize the bright red hibiscus that we use to make tea, but did you know this is the calyx of the flower? It starts out small and hidden below the petals, and after pollination, the petals fall away, the calyx closes and wraps around the ovary which grows and holds the seeds. As the ovary grows, so does the calyx; remove from the stalk with your snips, pull out the ovary and save the seeds, and dry the calyx for tea.
