Medicinal Minute: Antelope Horns or "Inmortal" (Asclepias asperula)

A note from Ginger:

Anglo ranchers know this milkweed by the name Antelope Horns; herbalists call it Inmortal. To me, inmortal has always been an advanced medicine. We never use the above-ground parts (leaves, flowers) because of their cardiotoxicity: we only use the roots. I was taught to dry them before tincturing. Austin TX midwife GB Khalsa says inmortal is her favorite herb to help contractions during active labor. The root can also be used for congestive heart conditions and lung conditions.
